Wtf does HTTP have to do with either POP3 or the question asked?

POP3 and IMAP are examples for protocols that do not use the host name for 
anything other than resolving an IP address. And Courier IMAP can not 
distinguish which host name the user typed into his mail client (as long as 
the user connectes to the same IP address).

What's wrong with this statement? Why do you contradict? Who asked for HTTP?
