Unfortunately I was not able to get the 8 courier servers to connect to
the PostgreSQL to find out, where the mailboxes are stored.

Does someone have a working config and can share it please?

For testing purposes I used the following settings in authpgsqlrc for a Postgres server on the same machine:

PGSQL_HOST localhost
PGSQL_PORT 5432
PGSQL_USERNAME mrsam
PGSQL_PASSWORD *******
PGSQL_DATABASE postgres
PGSQL_CHARACTER_SET UTF8
PGSQL_USER_TABLE passwd
PGSQL_CRYPT_PWFIELD crypt
PGSQL_CLEAR_PWFIELD clear
DEFAULT_DOMAIN courier-mta.com
PGSQL_UID_FIELD uid
PGSQL_GID_FIELD gid
PGSQL_LOGIN_FIELD id
PGSQL_HOME_FIELD home
PGSQL_NAME_FIELD name
PGSQL_MAILDIR_FIELD maildir
PGSQL_DEFAULTDELIVERY defaultDelivery
PGSQL_QUOTA_FIELD quota
PGSQL_WHERE_CLAUSE 1=1

There's not really much here that's generic. All the settings are pretty much site-specific.
