Claus, you're missing the point. The _filename_ is .courier-something. This is an internal courier protocol and has nothing to do with the address, nor with RFC 2821. See the man page for "dot-courier". The "something" is what is prepended to the domain name to define the email address managed by the contents of the dot-courier file. If a virtual mail account contains a folder called "alias", any .courier files therein define mail processing for mail addresses not otherwise specified in the user database for that domain name. I believe this is a courierlocal matter. Thus, if I have a virtual mail account for the domain name "example.com" and in the virtual mail setup for that account I have an "alias" folder, and in that folder I have the file ".courier-xyz", the contents of .courier-xyz define how mail addressed to x...@example.com is to be handled. If I have a file called .courier-x.y for the same account, it _should_ define how mail to x...@example.com is managed or forwarded. The address x...@example.com is RFC compliant, but courieresmtpd, or one of the modules on which it depends, can't see it. -- Lindsay Haisley | "The only unchanging certainty FMP Computer Services | is the certainty of change" 512-259-1190 | http://www.fmp.com | - Ancient wisdom, all cultures ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ How ServiceNow helps IT people transform IT departments: 1.
