Hi to all, i'm runnig my email server on ubutnu 12.04 with about 3000 users (not all simultaneous) and squirrelmail as webmail on another machine without imapproxy. I use maildir. In particular moment of the day access from webmail is very slow (a new connection is made from squirrelmail machine to courier server machine). I've raised MAXDAEMONS to 2000 and MAXPERIP to 300. Load CPU (4 opteron 8-core AMD64) is normal and memory (64GB) is very low (about 4GB). No problem with io device and performance. I'm investigating in open files limit for famd server now.
