Can USELOCKS safely be removed even when using shared folders?
In the mean time, I think I have found a working setup. Here it is for the
record:
I upgraded the kernel to 2.6.32
upgraded nfs-common to 1.2.2
changed the network interface to virtio type
set vm.zone_reclaim_mode=1 in sysctl.conf
Maybe not all this was necessary, but taking these steps improved
performance significantly, and resources used are much lower (expecially
memory, which was full of buffer and cache, as displayed by htop).
