It has only a place to specify the INBOX path. It doesn't have a way to
specify each mailbox. AFAIKT.

Call Kindle technical support. Tell them the email client stopped working after the update. Don't confuse the first level support drone with stuff about IMAP namespaces. Just tell him that Kindle's IMAP client doesn't work, your other IMAP clients do, with the same account.

Follow along with the expected script of removing and re-adding the IMAP account.

Two possible outcomes. Either he'll reach the end of the script and won't know how to go any further, or they might have a second level support drone that has more clue, and at that time you can start a discussion about namespaces.

But, either way, what will probably happen is that they'll get a bunch of complaints, then fix their broken email client. There's nothing that can be done on the server side until then. Their new email client's IMAP is fundamentally broken. The only thing you can do is switch to POP3.
