Mark, The "lite" package is not necessary. Problem lies in default configuration of apt system -- by default it installs all Recomended packages. I always switch that settings off as one of the first tasks during install. Offending packages can be found like these (not interesting information removed): > apt-rdepends -f Depends,PreDepends,Recommends -s Depends,PreDepends,Recommends courier-mta courier-mta Depends: courier-authlib (>= 0.66.1-1) courier-authlib Depends: expect expect Recommends: tk8.6 tk8.6 Depends: libc6 (>= 2.2.5) Depends: libfontconfig1 (>= 2.11) Depends: libfreetype6 (>= 2.2.1) Depends: libtcl8.6 (>= 8.6.0) Depends: libtk8.6 (>= 8.6.0) Depends: libx11-6 Depends: libxext6 Depends: libxft2 (>> 2.1.1) Depends: libxss1 Depends: zlib1g (>= 1:1.1.4) Recommends: x-terminal-emulator Recommends: xterm -- Aidas Kasparas IT administrator GM Consult Group, UAB +370 686 08473 http://www.gmc.lt ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Want excitement?
