For whitelists, Courier adds an Authentication-Result: dnswl=pass header field.
 It could do the same for blacklists.  However, "dnsbl=pass" would sound
ambiguous to me.  Some different code, such as "dnsbl=bad", may be clearer.

Right. I forgot about it, but some time ago something very similar to this was implemented.

Appending

ALLOW_0=BLOCK2

to the esmtpd configuration file, and restarting, should end up with this stuff getting recorded in the headers.
