Hi,
After activating courierfilter with spamassassin, the smtp service was
slow.
Spamassassin is very important to block spam's!
Questions:
1. Is it possible to include whitelist for the courierfilter, thus
reducing the load to the spamassassin whitelist?
2. Is there any way to do tuning to alleviate smtp?
You should probably look at your spamassassin setup for tuning.
- Are you loading any 3rd-party rules?
- Have you created any custom rules that might be causing problems?
- Is your machine swapping at all? If so, you may need to add more RAM
or reduce the number of spamd processes.
You ARE using spamc/spamd, right? If you are calling spamassassin for
every email, that will be very slow.
By default, spamd will log how much time it takes to process each
email. Take a look in the maillog.
Check out the spamassassin mailing list for more info.
