Hi,

Sorry for disappearing, but I missed all of the replies in my inbox
until I saw Fabio's this morning.

> What neighborhood are you looking to set up in?

Two neighborhoods that I would like to look at it either in the areas
of downtown that are being revitalized and Bardstown road. I can't
think of too many other places here were I think it would turn out
successful.

A few things that might have changed since you were here is a growing
technology community, local festivals (IdeaFestival, Forecastle
Festival) on top of the local arts and medical community that you
might remember. I think it is exactly that diversified mix that will
help make this a successful attempt, but it will require that I get to
talk with (just like anything) the right people that will grasp the
benefits of such an idea. I truly hope that the person I'll be meeting
with from the city will get it and I have to say so far from our phone
calls it sounds like he does. For their size both Louisville and
Lexington have a strong tech community in the area, it just happens
that other things like college basketball, bourbon and horses attract
most of the attention here. :D

Though my meeting with him has been pushed back a few weeks, because
my mind and heart is elsewhere as my Wife is getting ready to go to
China for about 8 months, I'm really optimistic that this will get
going here shortly. My hope is to start small, get it right and then I
think everything else will fall in place (of course with some work to
help it along).

Fabio, thanks a bunch for sharing the slides. It always good to see
what others are thinking and how they approach something.

David, using the economic "driver" point is one of my arguments to the
city. They spend allot of time going to Atlanta, Chicago trying to
attract expats from Louisville to come back. I think for a city or
region that is facing a brain drain the coworking concept (if done
true to the idea) could help to reverse their situation.

Tara, I take the the trend in informatics programs at colleges and
universities as a good sign that such a diverse mix of disciplines
could work.

Thanks to everyone for the comments and hopefully soon I'll be
reporting back some good news.

Michael B.
