Our coworking space, LaunchPad Coworking (www.launchpadcoworking.com) won't open for a few months. If you go here: http://blog.launchpadcoworking.com/page/2/ you can see a post we put up about determining what will and won't work regarding sound/noise in our space. Loud cell phone calls-- out. But what about music?
So now we're coming up with a policy regarding kids and babies. I love kids and babies and from the time he was a month old (he's 17 now) I took my son with me everywhere-- readings, concerts, plays. I also took him out of the room if he was fussy out of respect for others. Obviously different parents have different boundaries and we've all been in spaces where kids have been allowed to run around shrieking. We won't have kids allowed in our workspace, nor do we want to be hostile and grouchy about it. It can be a touchy subject-- what about new moms who want to bring infants to a coworking space for breastfeeding/bonding/whatever? If any of you have official or unofficial policies on kids in the coworkspace, please let me know. Also, I invite you all to check out our blog and please, if you're moved to do so, give us some comments. We're learning and shaping as we go and the feedback helps.
