Hi Everyone, I wanted to introduce myself. My name is Dan Davie and I am - with the help of a couple of co-conspirators - preparing to launch a co-working facility in sunny Tampa, FL. Our intention is to use my company (an integrated marketing communications agency) as an anchor tenant in the facility. After having worked in the Washington, DC market for more than a decade, I was disappointed at the lack of community and idea exchange among people in and outside of the technology community - designers, developers, engineers, entrepreneurs, etc. We have tried many different routes to engage with the local establishment to embrace the co-working concept to no avail. So we're doing it ourselves.
We are in the process of naming and finalizing a space. All the information and discussions on this board, and others, have been incredibly helpful as we work our individual business model and go-to- market strategy. It's been a great inspiration that we can make this happen in our local market. I promise to send more info as we get up and running (with pictures). Thanks again to everyone who is making co-working possible and keep your eyes out for more from Tampa.
