Hi Elizabeth,

When I first started researching coworking way back when, I was thinking
that a feasibility/market study was necessary-- to determine not just if
there were enough people, but in what part of the city such a space would be
best situated.

But honestly, I don't know how one goes about conducting a formal
feasibility study. What I did figure out was how to connect with the people
in the area and informally determine where and what the needs were.

It sounds like you know your town and its makeup pretty well-- are you in
personal correspondence with many of those NYC-expat independents? If you
hosted a Jelly, could you put the word out to a few folks and ask them to do
the same?

Going that route should, relatively quickly and certainly inexpensively, get
you not only some very valuable information about the feasibility of a
coworking community/space, but people to help too.

PS: What town are you in? If you open a space, can us New Yorkers come down
in the summer and have a coworking beach party? :-D

Best,
Tony Bacigalupo
