Daniel, You are talking about something near and dear to my heart. My new venture is a space that focuses on helping others and the environment by bringing together like-minded people in a creative workshop and resource-sharing space, with coworking being a part of the overall picture.
In my research, I've found a great website that is focused on bringing together existing service organizations with a myriad of needs with volunteers of all kinds. It's volunteermatch.org. I blogged about it a while back: http://twsblog.wordpress.com/2008/06/12/amazing-find-for-volunteer-wannabees-and-organizations-in-need/ I thought I'd share not only because it could expedite your plans for doing good through ActionCamp, but also because it is a great tool that facilitates that process of helping others and, the more folks use it and are aware of it, the better it serves the common good... Hope you find the information helpful. Looking forward to seeing the good work of your ActionCamp.
