Not sure if you're interested in doing research on mobility in campus communities (seems like a fit), but if so, my university rolled out iPhones and iPod Touches to all incoming freshman this past fall. The result is a very cool "lab" with complete ubiquity of mobility, we've developed about 30 web-based applications for the higher ed environment and we're partnering with for-profit developers doing some pretty cool stuff. It's Abilene Christian University. Check out www.acu.edu/connected and www.ithinked.com.
Good luck!
