I myself am interested to see how this will work, having a video
studio in a coworking space.
Here are my thoughts on the matter; I am of two minds. I could
operate the space separate from the studio. much like any of the
members would use their private office, say for chiropractin' or
massages. The studio would be a 'private office' used for video prod.
The second idea would be to have a 4th tier to my membership
offerings. so the studio would operate more like a conference room,
available to members and to outside biz.
1. Private Offices
2. Full-time member
3. Part-time member
4. Media Member
Media members will pay a monthly membership fee between $100-
$200. Then use of the studio will be at reduced hourly (or half-day)
rates.
The media members will consist of off-site business and freelance
videographers in the area. (We have tons of freelance shooter/editors
along the wasatch front)
Eventually I would love to offer equipment rentals to these
freelancers.
As a professional Media Producer I hope to build a sharp professional
studio from the begining, but that will require a lot of capital.
I hope to be able to offer members/clients quick video streaming from
the studio. I've found that most companies ask an intern or an inside
IT guy to 'figure out' how to make a podcast or video feed. They
spend all week shooting, editing and uploading for barely decent
results. This space will allow them to create professional videos in
real time. They will stream live, record to HD and have full graphic
overlays.
I am willing to assist any coworking facility that is interested
in creating a video studio in their space.
