At a chamber of commerce meeting today I met a lady from worksource (our state
employment agency).  She thought the Pink Slip idea was great.  Said to send
her my flyer, if I decide to do this Pink Slip Special.  She would then give
the information to people coming through her agency.  So that may be a source
in your area.

Excellent idea!  Thanks for sharing.

In the CollabLab business plan I wrote a couple weeks ago, I had
outlined that I wanted to target the "pink slip" demographic.  That
they would be an excellent candidate for coworking...I'll post an
excerpt.

****
The Current Economy
It has been documented that as unemployment rises, the number of
people that choose to become self employed rises as well. In the face
of the recession we are currently diving into, the unemployment rate
has been drastically increasing to all time highs.  This indicates
that self employment should be increasing as well.

These newly self employed people may not have the resources or
contacts needed to be successful since they are used to having the
support of a corporation behind them.  Typically suddenly laid off
from their previous job, they may not have the resources at home to
support working from it or the capital to quickly build the
infrastructure required of a home office.

Coworking is an excellent way for people new to self employment to
build up their network of contacts and collaborate with others, while
not requiring a large investment to get a home office set up, which in
turn will give them a better chance to be successful.

One thing that I didn't put in the business plan was specifics on how
to reach these people.... Any ideas?  (FYI, I suck at marketing) I
mean there isn't a "Pink Slip Registry" that you could find these
people with..
