This is a conversation I've had and thought through from a number of perspectives. Full disclosure, in my other life, I'm a rabbi.
If they will only be using the space on Sunday, you have relatively few problems (except, of course, for staffing the space on Sunday, if necessary, and any extra cleanings, etc.). If the pastor will also be maintaining an office at your space, things become a little more complex. The folks who are often involved in renting space for the church too often fail to truly understand the needs of the pastor for space. Therefore, before signing anything, I would make sure to get the pastor involved in the conversation. The only other concern is making sure that the space does not become overly identified with the church....which means firm control over branding, and having very clear conversations with the church about how much signage they may put up and when. Those are the key issues I can think of at the moment. --David David Kominsky [email protected] 503-206-3500 CubeSpace 622 SE Grand Avenue Portland, OR 97214 On Thu, Feb 26, 2009 at 9:29 AM, [email protected] < [email protected]> wrote: > > I am in a fairly conservative area, ratio of church to people is 1 > church:1,000 people or so, and have more than one contact who is a > employed by a church.
