Hi all, I'd like to share the progress that we're making here in Davao City, Philippines. We decided to follow the advice of the coworking veterans in this list by nurturing the community first before deciding on the space. The result of our efforts is IdeaCamp Davao (www.ideacampdavao.com). We had our first event last May 30 and we've now lined up a number of activities in the next few weeks including a free coffee saturday which jumps from coffee shop to coffee shop and an Open Street Map mapping party!
We've been getting a lot of interested parties willing to sponsor our coffee and other things and it's been a very exciting ride. When we feel that we've built a critical mass of core participants (we'll re-evaluate in 2~3 months time), we'll start thinking about finding a permanent place.
