I just realized I broke the group's rules by not introducing myself
before my first post.

Hi, I'm Jeff Rush located here in Dallas. I've been a self-employed
consultant/developer since 1984, a perfect candidate for coworking.
Fortunately a facility (company|dallas) opened up a few weeks ago just 2
miles from me and I'm helping promote it among the communities I
participate.

I'm not an owner, just a member. Very few people so far so it's lonely.
;-) We are starting to hold our usergroup meetings there and to offer
general presentations on other days. I joined because I miss bouncing
ideas off people and helping them solve problems when I just work at
home. I spend a lot of time on IM and mailing lists as a result.

I'm very big into the Python programming language and helping others to
come up to speed. For a year I was the official worldwide Python
Advocacy Coordinator, now unofficial volunteer, started the DFW
Pythoneers usergroup/meetup and I've chaired a couple of 600-person
PyCon conferences so I know a bit about organizing.

I also mentor developers, speak at events and produce screencasts on
technical topics at www.showmedo.com. Besides Python I'm also a pure
Linux developer and into robotics and embedded programming like for the
OpenMoko cellphone, the One-Laptop-per-Child XO, the TuxPhone and the
Kurobox NAS boxes from Buffalo Tech.

You can find me on twitter as #xanalogica and on Google Chat in the
chatrooms #dfwpython, #dfwuug, and #pylocal (worldwide community of
Python usergroup organizers).

Gulp, there are almost 2000 members now on this list; truly coworking is
taking off as a movement. Here in Dallas it is still a challenge to
get others to understand exactly what it is.
