Hello everyone, I stumbled on this group from the wiki page, so I thought I would introduce myself and my co-working space in Downtown Oakland.
Tech Liminal, which opened this week, is a 1700-square foot space with a large open area and a high-tech conference room. We are centrally located near public transportation, freeways, and the lovely park around Lake Merritt. I started Tech Liminal because I wanted to create a vibrant community space where regular people can interact with technology in a non- threatening way. As a long-time IT consultant, I've worked with some of the most advanced commercial (and non-commercial) software. As a community volunteer, I've seen the disparity that exists between what people can use in the corporate world, and what they have access to as regular citizens. As a member of the Open Source movement and a long- time technology user, I find most interactions with commercial software and hardware vendors de-humanizing and misleading. In any case, I'm glad to find a group devoted to co-working and figuring out some of the interesting issues that come up as I get going. Cheers, Anca. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Anca Mosoiu Owner, Tech Liminal [email protected] www.techliminal.com --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Coworking" group.
