Hi Jodi, At Igluu I would say after we decided on the space we took about 3 months preparing/planning (which also included preparing for an extensive renovation of the space itself - we'll try to avoid that next time as it was a real money pit), then another 3 months execution before opening. We have been open since march this year so five months and we currently have about 30 memberships - our space has 26 hot desks. We have kept extensive statistics and it pretty much averages out to just over one membership per week. That puts us slightly under our planned target but makes us feel comfortable we'll hit it soon. I will say that getting the people took a lot more effort than we thought it would take - our biggest competitor is the home office and especially in these times people will weigh that 'for free' option against the benefits a coworking space brings. Three things that have really worked for us are: putting out flyers in local shops and bars, holding regular breakfast events at Igluu, joining and using LinkedIn groups and more recently we started using Twitter as well.
