Hi Erin, Listen to your membership. Also, for us being near where people live is very important! It has to be just a short extra for them to go beyond either their living room or the cafe to come in. Although I know other spaces that are right in downtowns away from where people live. Our members can walk, ride their bikes or drive (but usually not far), to get to our space. For them being near home allows them to get out and actually grow connections in the community where they live which is an added bonus.
One thing we don't like as much in our SF space as our MV space is that public transportation isn't as convenient. Something to think about. We used to be 4 blocks from the train and our members loved it as did we because we are a "green" space. Wishing you great luck.
