Congratulations Chad on your move next time i'm in Barrie I'll have to drop by. I don't know if it is the Canadian context or the southern Ontario context but our experience has been that most businesses regardless of industry enjoy some level of privacy. That is why we went with cubicles from the get go. I realize that many hardcore enthusiasts will be questioning the labeling of this type of space as coworking, but I would suuggest that other than making direct eye contact with your fellow coworker whilst coworking you will enjoy all the other advantages such an open enviroment will offer. We have a kitchenette, lounge area, boardrooms, and other common areas but have found that people like to work in their own defined space while being able to walk over and call on a fellow coworker as they please. It is this social interaction and the opportunity to network that is so attractive, as it might be in non-cubed spaces. I suspect that it is this type of space that will have greater appeal to the majority of people that are interested in coworking, yet not interested in sitting right beside someone or on the opposite side of a desk or table. It is an inevitable step in the evolution of the concept as it becomes more robust. I would welcome you to our site at www.3301.ca and would encourage you to visit when you are next in town: we are 15 minutes from the airport and 15 minutes from downtown, off the the QEW, GO train, and have a TTC streetcar stop right out front of our 14,000 square foot facility. We are at 3301 Lake Shore Blvd W, Toronto M8W 1M8. Leo Coholic 3301.ca 647-347-3306
