Hi all, I've been reading this group for some time, silently a little jealous of you all in your co-working spaces. :-)
Here in Manchester, we've been trying to get something up and running in the city centre all the GeekUp[1] guys and gals could use. We have a really well-established digital media sector (a lot of larger UK companies send their digital portfolio to Manchester firms) and interesting Berlin-esque grassroots hacking/coding/development community. So, after two years, we've got a member-owned Independent & Provident Society/Co-operative up and running, and tomorrow morning, we move into our new home! The guys at MadLab[2] took over an unused building in the heart of the Northern Quarter (home to most of the trendier businesses in Manchester), and offered us 1,000 square foot of space to use. It took some work.
