We also have a semi-internship/externship thing going at BEAHIVE. I had just
put out a call late fall through our various channels and got a couple people
interested in helping out in a very informal way.

One has been great. She lives in the next town and moved there from the city
(NYC) last summer -- so she wanted to get involved in the local community. She
also had her hours reduced at her real job -- a foreign policy advocacy group
she co-founded (she has a Masters in Econ).

We really lucked out with her. She was coming in just one day a week, though,
and lately has been doing some paid part-time census work -- so we miss her.

--One or two interns? Dynamism w/two?

2 could definitely work if you have the work for them.

--Paid, college credit, and/or providing a desk?

Ours is unpaid. We would do college credit but haven't had to yet. We provide a
full-time shared membership (no perm desk), but it hasn't bee used.

--Should the intern focus on coworking space projects should member projects
also be part of the experience?

I think member projects would be great and we plan to offer that in the right
situation. We have interest from members. Still thinking of how to structure it
-- and waiting to get someone with more time to dedicate. I've thought member
project work could be paid by the members.

--Advertise through craiglsist, colleges, twitter, etc.

All of the above, but we didn't push the college thing much and our response
reflected that. Ours came through our own community.

I just yesterday put out another call: http://beahivebeacon.com/interns.html

Good luck,
scott.
