I just stumbled across this group this evening. A friend of mine had been talking to me recently about a project for an executive space in Laurel, MD. I thought it was a really good idea and have been playing around with the idea of doing something similar, but closer to me. I currently own my own company as a Virtual Assistant and work primarily in social media marketing. I've been brainstorming the past few hours and searching the internet to see what other concepts similar to mine were already out there. (Why reinvent the wheel?) So I came across coworking and think it's a fantastic idea! I read about the Coworking Visa project and noticed there is nothing in Maryland, so I thought I could incorporate it into my idea as well.
I know there is still a long way to go as this is still in the brainstorming phase and I haven't even begun to think of how to fund it, but I think this is a good place for me to learn from others. I'll probably just read what everyone else has to say for a while, maybe asking the occasional question. Nice to meet everyone!
