Hi all! Thanks for all the great work you are doing promoting
coworking and inspiring others, like myself.

I'm in the development process of starting a coworking space here in
Fairfield County, CT. I had the privilege of meeting the gang at The
Hive @ 55 yesterday and walked away with a ton of new ideas for how to
get this idea off the ground. (thanks, Daria and Brian!) I'll be
combing through the past posts and continuing my online research, but
any first-hand feedback on how you all got started would be great. Did
you start by building a community and then finding space? Start with a
great space and build from there? Did you need outside investors? Was
a kick-a$$ biz plan the secret to that? Did you work with your local
city gov't?

My background is marketing and publicity, and my company is
www.bookingauthors.com
- a publicity firm specializing in sourcing and securing speaking
opportunities for our author clients, the majority of whom are
business experts and "lifestyle" authorities. I'd love to offer ideas
for creating low-cost events in your co-working spaces by leveraging a
new book's "promotion" window and other potential marketing ideas for
developing new customers. These are the ideas that keep me so jazzed
about starting my own coworking space, so I'm happy to share!

Thanks again and I look forward to getting to know you all! Have a
collaborative day!
