Iris - I agree, we're long overdue for a Bay Area/Northern CA coworking gathering, since we put together the *Coworking Crawl* Downtown SF biodiesel bus tour, (too) many years ago.
I've long been working on making introductions between area coworking space organizers, and I've been amazed to discover that some have been so busy in their own spaces that they have never been to visit others, even ones just a couple blocks or under a mile away, let alone talk with other space organizers and active users. Especially now as several spaces are open in close proximity in downtown SF and Berkeley and even in downtown Oakland, it will help us grow as a movement, and get past perceptions of competition as the driving force of what we're about, better understand each other, our spaces, our needs and strategies, and maybe even find enough common interest that joint investment in cooperative marketing/outreach to build the coworking brand and community. Our space members, too, can benefit from cross-listing events and seeing themselves as part of a larger community that stretches across spaces. There's a dormant Bay Area Coworking<http://www.meetup.com/coworkingBayArea/>MeetUp group I've been holding onto in caretaker status that could be pretty rapidly revived for this purpose. And I'm interested in collaborating on making something happen. Of the SF spaces I've visited, Citizen Space and The Hub seem to be the ones with the largest full-room meeting spaces available, although depending on how widely we cast a net, it could probably fit several.
