In following the group guidelines, I'd like to start off by introducing myself.
Hi, I'm Jesse. I'm a former IT pro (on the help desk/tech support side) who is now looking into opening a coworking space here in Seattle. I'm in the very early stages of research and fact gathering, so I'm here mostly to glean as much useful info as possible and hopefully meet some locals with similar interests. I came to find out about coworking through my interest in all things commons/shareable/sustainable related and the idea really struck a chord. For years I harbored the desire to open a coffee shop, but hesitated because the aspect that really appealed was creating a third place for people to collaborate and get things done. The coffee was secondary. Or tertiary even. Now that I've discovered coworking I'm ready to take the plunge back into business ownership. That's enough rambling from me, I'm going to sit back and start absorbing knowledge for a while, drop me a line if you have any interest in working together to make another coworking space a reality!
