Hello, and happy new year from Germany! I've been a lurker on this list for a few months now, but thought it was high-time that I introduce myself.
I'm a tech journalist, working for Deutsche Welle English, in Bonn, Germany, where I'm the sci-tech editor here (http://dw-world.de/science) and the host and producer of our weekly sci-tech radio program, Spectrum (http://dw-world.de/spectrum). Prior to arriving in Germany nine months ago, I was a freelance tech journalist based in Oakland, California, and have on a handful of occasions, made use of co-working spaces to not only do work, but also as a quiet place to conduct radio interviews. I know the folks behind Parisoma in SF, Techliminal in Oakland, and have been fortunate enough to use Coworking Cologne and Betahaus Hamburg since arriving here in Germany. I also wanted to alert various coworking spaces around the continent about my forthcoming book, "The Internet of Elsewhere," (Rutgers University Press, May 2011 - www.internetofelsewhere.com), which is a look at the history and effects of the Internet in four countries around the world: South Korea, Iran, Senegal and Estonia. I'm in the early stages of planning book reading tours around the continent and have been in touch with a few coworking spaces about using their locations to do readings.
