Hello Jacob and All,

Seems like we could all give Jacob and all who participate in this arena a
big "well done" - we're cooperatively working with and towards a balanced
approach, which is hard to find in the business world. I agree with Jacob
and others regarding comments about balance, openness, etc. An incremental
approach rather than "databasing" everything into a box has worked thus far.
The old map was a good start but demonstrated the need for more
curator-like care, which resulted in the latest map we've been collaborating
with - see " II) Jump to CoWorking Venues
Map<http://wiki.coworking.info/w/page/29303049/Directory#map>
 "

*If I may offer a few suggestions:
1) The library and wiki methods may work more effectively if we have
guidelines regarding quantitative data, such as addresses - I've noticed
that listings or updates in the Coworking wiki <http://wiki.coworking.info>are
without solid physical addresses or geocoding. This "last mile" info is
important to keeping travelling Coworkers informed with accurate data, and
for historical accuracy as well when it comes to updating any "database" out
there.*

*2) *About databases, instead of a hard-coded solution with Ruby or any
other language - might we consider keeping all the ever expanding hard data
and "metadata" in a flat-file (Ex. Comma delim) open/libre/free state for
all to access, with a Creative Commons statement tacked on for good measure.
It's only a matter of time before some larger corporate entity is going to
try and snap all our efforts up in the parental manner we all just love to
see happen to communities like ours - sorry, had to say it - history
repeats.

*3)* Ryan's comments about document templates, Maps, Directories, Survey
data, Contact lists and Charter information, etc. were super - and seem very
doable in the present construct.

*4)* Should we consider a CMS (Ex. Drupal 7, Joomla) as a future umbrella
construct to hang Wiki's and everything else under - even simply for future
scalability's sake?

...Enuf 4 now - sock it to me if I'm off base on anything - I can take it!
 ;-)
