Andreea, There are a few systems at the core of a coworking space. I'll group them together and talk a little about how we do it here at Office Nomads.
Network = PFSense & Apple Airport Extreme. We use an open source firewall called PFSense to handle our multiple internet connections and minimal onsite hosting setup. The Airport Extreme is by far the best wireless access point and we've gone through a few. Bookkeeping & Payments = Authorize.net and Quickbooks although we are researching switching to Less Accounting for the bookkeeping parts. Currently we handle invoicing through QB but are working on migrating that to our member management software. Member Management = Nadine. This is the open source project we developed and it handles all our memberships and membership activity which gets collated into billing reports. Cobot is the best-in-class member management system, developed out of Co.Up in Berlin and is offered as a service. It's a good product... so much so that we were very close to scrapping our Nadine efforts and signing up. File Share: Dropbox. This is just for the Office Nomads team. We don't do any kind of file sharing between members.
