Howdy Coworkers, I've run the JellyLA group for a few years now, followed this group regularly, and been happy to see the LA coworking and startup scene grow significantly in that time. More recently, I joined a startup called Sparqlight. We're fortunate to have a nice lil office in Santa Monica which we've opened (as of today) as a Workclub associated with CoffeeAndPower.com (or C+P colloquially).
Now… we don't profit from C+P at all. We're solely involved to give back to the local mobile workforce. We're also trying to partner with pro coworking spaces—Coloft, Blankspaces, kleverdog, etc.—to push members their way when a workclub-er wants a more full-time arrangement. Right now, C+P is finding it's legs. The site's a constant work in progress, but I think they've laid some solid groundwork to help the mobile workforce engage and find work. I do see this as the next generation of coworking: an opportunity for people to earn lunch money and more easily find global resources while building their own businesses. Is anyone using C+P? Have thoughts on my musings? Would any coworking space owners consider a relationship with C+P to help members share talents (and potentially monetize beyond membership fees)? Love to hear your thoughts as I plan my 2012 JellyLA season. -- Bryan -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Coworking" group.
