Regarding Medical & Government:

I've spent time with people from both of these industries, with mixed results,
talking about how they can benefit from coworking. One of my common selling
points is to urge them to look for the "admin days" in their schedule and make
them happen from Indy Hall. The benefit is taking what's otherwise a
drudge-worthy point in their schedule and making it something to look forward
to.

We've got a member who's a private practice doctor. We have a couple of yoga
instructors on the roster, too.

We've had a good amount of interaction with government too, but not in the way
you might be looking for. We've actually seen government employees look at our
models for interacting collaboratively with excitement and find ways to apply
them to new initiatives in city hall. What's awesome is that they've done it
successfully, even if it's small successes.

They get involved at an event level. We've hosted and helped organize some
hackthons that involved civic leaders, and it's been extremely valuable to have
them at the table. My hope is that over time, more people who work at City Hall
can spend time at a place like Indy Hall, and we can learn more from each other
about how to make our city better (since that's core to our mission
(http://dangerouslyawesome.com/2012/04/the-virtues-of-indy-hall/)).

A massive portion of Philadelphia's open data initiative and other related
public sector initiatives look to our models of coworking for inspiration of
how to interact outside of city hall and collaborate better with other
departments as well as the private sector. It's been really inspiring to watch
them put these ideas to work :)
