To Alex's question yesterday about Wifi (Ruckus and Meraki): here is the blog post our tech lead did back in Aug 2009 on the testing we did to settle on Ruckus. http://www.cictr.com/blog/2009/08/our-quest-for-awesome-wi-fi-at-cic/
We are now serving between 1500 and 2000 people at a time, many days of the week, some with multiple devices (laptop, smartphone, tablet). Ruckus continues to be a great solution for us. I don't know whether Meraki had a solution back then that we tested, and I'm sure the products have advanced since then -- but we've been very pleased with Ruckus. One factor to bear in mind: these kinds of systems perform best if they don't have to fight against other Wifi systems when allocating spectrum. Even if they're not managed together, Ruckus APs will collaborate to minimize interference. Consequently, we have tried to get our neighbors to use Ruckus as well, so they and we can all have a better experience. If anyone wants more info, contact me off-list at [email protected].
