Hello everyone, Two quick announcements. Both of which we believe will promote the growth and strength of the global coworking movement.
Tonight in Berlin- hope you can make it, we will be holding a very special Coworking Space Ship event - http://coworkingspaceship.com/ We will have a major focus on how coworking spaces can work to help protect the rights of their users - which are primarily freelancers and small businesses. Recently we supported the 'Freelancer Tax Petition' in Germany, initiated by Tim Wessels - a freelancer based in Hamburg. The petition was against a new piece of legislation in process that would force all freelancers to pay a retirement tax of 350 euro a month (at least), on top of health insurance and other costs. This would force many freelancers on to social welfare and harm coworking space membership levels. Tim Wessels will talk at tonight's Coworking Space Ship event in Berlin about how to continue fighting this law. >From Deskwanted's perspective we see great potential in the power of coworking spaces by informing and involving their members in issues that will directly effect them, we would love to continue supporting initiatives around the globe in any way that we can. Hope you can join us tonight in discussing how! In addition to this exciting event, we ourselves have some great news! We have just relaunched Deskwanted! New tools on Deskwanted We're thrilled to announce* *the launch of the new Deskwanted. Our new web app comes complete with new management tools for collaborative workspaces. *This is just the first step!* We'll soon add even more tools, such as payment processing, internal communication, event organizing, meeting room management and much more. Our aim is to make it easy to run a coworking space. Best of all, our tools are completely free. Try our tools out at www.deskwanted.com Cheers all!
