Hi, Antonello,

In working on Coworking in Europe you are really spoiled for choice in
terms of a topic.

You can compare coworking with and without government subsidy for instance.
You can compare coworking models which do and do not offer registration of
the business with local/national government, a very interesting subject at
least here in northern Europe. You can talk about the emerging shared
membership efforts (for which you have a glorious and shining example in
Italy of course in COWO).

If I were doing a thesis, I would do it on the interface of coworking with
entirely internet-based businesses: webshops, import/export, and various
other kinds of services. But that is probably because I am presently
occupied with trying to crack that nut. Or I would do it on the emergence
of coworking in the trades, but then of course ditto.

The future is already here, it just is not evenly distributed (Gibson) and
one of the themes of people actually coworking in Europe in my experience
is that the law and regulation of business in Europe is based in a model
which has not changed in...well, let's just say a very long time, but doing
business has. And this leaves both the folks who work for the government
and the coworkers to make it up as we go along, with a heaping helping of
misunderstanding on both sides. You could choose a sector for instance and
look at this question either within Italy or within Europe and make
recommendations for regulation that the government might take.

Just my .02,

Jeannine
