Craig, Thanks for posting this.... we are about the same size and were just about to try out the Asus RT-AC68U as a compliment to our Airport Extreme(s).
I have also heard good things about Aerohive <http://www.aerohive.com/products/overview/access-points.html>, but am not set on anything right now.
