We use WPengine for managed WordPress hosting and have never experienced
performance problems with BuddyPress. Our business focuses on WordPress and
BuddyPress. We recently (past 1.5 years) built a social network with over
2,000 users and courseware (mapped to BuddyPress Groups) for global
healthcare leaders fighting HIV, TB, Malaria and Ebola in Africa and Asia.
