Hi Carolyn,
A couple of things I've noticed that are VERY important to cultivating a
culture at a coworking space (having created and been to quite a few) are;
1. Define a formula or mission and SAY it OUT LOUD to members and WRITE
it everywhere you can. Use the words you define over an over and eventually
it will be absorbed into the culture (as long as it is true - being true to
your culture is KEY:))
2. Use a model that only takes monthly members - daily members can
disrupt a culture and monthly people tend to be more committed to the
culture and community
3. For your purposes I recommend talking to other coworks who focus on
community and culture
- We do this at the cowork I help manage (www.carlsoncowork.com)
- I also visited 3 coworks in London who do the same (The Office
Group, Huckletree, and Rainmaking Loft)
