I work at Workstation, a co-working space in Lagos, Nigeria.

Our prices are quite reasonable ($167 a month) but we require a quarterly 
payment for dedicated desk memberships. This is because some members after 
their membership's expiration sometimes do not show up until after 3 weeks 
and tell us they are no longer renewing the fixed desk plan. This makes us 
lose that month's rent and a potential customer who might have wanted the 
desk, due to us trying to reserve the desk for our member.

We intend to charge them a deposit in addition to the quarterly payment but 
we think this might drive them away.

I need suggestions on other alternatives to making sure we do not lose on 
the long run but we also don't appear as jerks.
