Dishwasher works well for us. We've successfully established the habit that dirty dishes go in the dishwasher throughout the day, the last person out runs the dishwasher, and the first person in empties it. That last person out and first person in is usually Glen or me, but if we're not the dishwasher task usually (not always) gets done.
