CPAN is a lot of things, so talking about who hosts it is hard. The most important aspects (for this conversation) are the upload site, the master fileserver, the mirrors, and the search interface. http://cpan.org will note that Funet hosts the master. PAUSE, the Perl Author Upload Something Erother is hosted by FIZ Chemie Berlin. Search (search.cpan.org) is hosted by The Perl.org Guys on hardware provided by BizRate. I don't know who pays for DNS. LOTS of people operate CPAN mirrors. Businesses, individuals, schools, etc. -- rjbs
