Without either of those the indexing will not happen. If you want to install it you must say (if you're using the cpan shell): cpan> install DHUNT/PDL-NetCDF-4.14.tar.gz You can inform yourself about newer uploads with cpan> ls DHUNT/PDL-NetCDF* -- andreas
