I can discard these now if need be with some tweaks to CPANPLUS::Dist::YACSmoke
( which is what I am predominately using now for smoking ).

But, yes, it would be nice to persuade Jos to fix it. He welcomes patches.

That behaviour, I am guessing, is in CPANPLUS::Dist ( or CPANPLUS::Dist::Base ) 
somewhere.
