I read this again and it indeed confirms that there
is not a well determined format for PASS/FAIL reports
except for the subject lines...
"Currently the format of reports differs slightly
between the reporting mechanism, although there
are plans to merged the ideas into a single format."
It is not recommended that you generate your own scripts, as we have a
defined structure now for posting reports that is likely to change soon
to fit with the next generation of CPAN Tester tools. If you are
planning to become a regular CPAN Testers it is advisable to look at
either CPAN-Reporter or CPANPLUS-YACSmoke.
My script was just calling CPAN::Reporter as in
the pod docs to create an output file that I could
mail by hand since my e-mail is not perl enabled.
The mistake was thinking I could insert my own
content in the comments section since apparently
that breaks some of the parsing going on...
I'll stick to minimal reporting for now and
hope for the improved build/configure feedback
for PASSes in the future.
Thanks,
Chris
