I've just released an alpha bundle of the next release of version.pm to CPAN:

There are some API changes (additional methods) and a bugfix for a nasty action-at-a-distance problem involving eval() and locales. IMPORTANT NOTE: this release doesn't correctly override the core bits in 5.10.0, so it currently skips all tests on that release. Please let me know if there is anything else I can do to get this smoked far and wide... John p.s. The POD is still in a very primitive state pending a rewrite, so don't look at that yet ;-)
