On Windows a popular installation path for perl is C:\Program Files\Perl. Activestate's distribution chooses this path by default. There are many bugs (esp. with installation) which show up only when the path to perl contains spaces.
Could I suggest that some of the cpan-testers who are already testing on Windows try testing with perl installed in this path - or even with the pre-built Activestate distribution? I think you will discover *lots* of problems that way. Although perhaps most of them will in fact be problems with ExtUtils::MakeMaker. Anyway, it is worth a try. Hope you don't mind the intrusion - -- Ed Avis <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
