Ok - I was unaware 5.005 was still actively supported! Yes, and there is no point in pushing (basically) syntax sugar on such a simple module. I just uploaded to CPAN 1.41 - I'm attaching it to this mail as well so you can test it before it hits the mirrors ;-) Please confirm if it works correctly now.
